mijin_gakure The Thrall Exclusion Radius will be returned to default after the next server restart. That means thralls will no longer be able to be stacked right next to each other, and will have the default placement radius. This is to prevent the exploitation of game mechanics regarding purges, and prevent an issue with overloading the game’s action queue, which is designed to only hold 400 combat actions at a time, to become overloaded by having 60 thralls all attacking 200 purge mobs walking through a maze purge base at a time. This results in the action queue getting overloaded resulting in the server crashing. Additionally, we’re adding a rule prohibiting maze purge bases. I’ve been on the fence of doing this since the new purge system came out, but I’ve decided it’s time. These style of bases are totally unnecessary for purges, and only result in problems like this.

The issues we had yesterday with BattlEye causing crashes bumped us off the first page of the server rankings on Battlemetrics; unacceptable! 😡

So this weekend we’ll be hosting our first ever **2.5x/5x coin weekend**! 🎉 From now until Monday morning, simply being logged on the Exiled Lands server will result in **2.5 gold per hour, and being in the hub will result in a whopping 5 gold per hour! 💰

So if you want to get rich, log your character in and park it in the hub this weekend while you’re not playing. 🎮 Just go into video settings, put the game in `Windowed Mode`, turn the `Resolution` as low as it will go, set `Max FPS` to 30, and check the `Low End Laptop Mode` box, and lastly you can turn your screen(s) off and your computer won’t receive anymore wear and tear than if you just left it idle with nothing running. The issues of players falling through floos in Conan Exiles is a well-documented and widespread problem affecting all servers and users. The more populated the server, the more pronounced the issue. There’s been a great deal of speculation into the cause of the problem, but only one thing is for sure; it has absolutly nothing to do with server hardware. It’s been expeirenced on our server which has better hardware than any other server, on official g-portal trash, and on every other shape and size of private server. I’ve looked into the matter myself exaustivly, and I have a hunch what the cause is, and a potential solution I’m working on, if it fails then I will add an unstuck command feature to the server. I’m not sure what changed in the most recent update, but it’s crystal clear that this problem, while existing previously, has been greatly exasperbated by the Age of War Chapter 4 update, and wildly reported upon:

mijin_gakure We’re adding three new building mods to the server: Desert Town, Creature Comforts, and the much-coveted Northern Timber. These mods will add 21 new building sets to the server. After testing these building sets for several days, I’ve deemed them appropriate, minus several pieces which I’ll be manually blocking out. In addition to the additional knowledge, 47 new pieces have been added to the Decorum Purveyor in the hub. To unlock new building knowledge, whichever set you want can be purchased from a new NPC in the hub named Vercingetorix [Master Architect]. The prices range from 25g to 100g, and once you’ve unlocked the knowledge, it will be yours forever to use as you please. The choice to set it up this way should serve to stimulate the economy, which has become rather stagnant with many long-term players amassing vast quantities of pippi gold. Additionally, this will motivate people with a goal, also prevent a mass influx of new structures inflating the database all at once as people want to use the new building sets, also protect build diversity, this will also encourage people to guild to share their building sets, and lastly it will prevent the spam of some of the heavier 4k textured building sets. mijin_gakure The Isle of Siptah server PvP time settings have been corrected to be 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST again. I mistakenly overwrote them with the EL times yesterday when I was making changes 😅
mijin_gakure Thrall damage has been raised slightly both to players and NPCs. It was previously 0.3 and 0.4, but now it’s 0.5 and 0.5. This keeps in lign with the harder difficulty vibe I’m going for while keeping things safter for newer players with the changes made from AoW chapter 4. Additionally npc damage has been toned down slightly from 1.2 to 1.1. however, NPC health has been raised from 1.0 to 1.1. NPC damage taken will remain at 0.9. I’d personally like to make the NPCs a bit harder, but we get a lot of complaints from players newer to the game, so this is like medium difficulty. With the Age of War Chapter 4 changes we implemented finally yesterday this feels about right.
mijin_gakure I’ve trimmed some fat off both EL and Siptah, but especially EL to get the database back down to a manageable number. Additionally I’ve implemented some changes to more closely reflect the current state of default settings for age of war chapter 4, which include the stamina changes. I’ve tweaked a few other settings here and there in ways I feel will benefit the server over all, but there’s still a few things I want to do so I’ll be finishing up tomorrow because I ran out of time tonight.

mijin_gakure The issue with Siptah seems to be resolved from the roll back. Thanks for your patience with this matter. If you played on Siptah over the weekend, and haven’t received compensation for the roll back yet, please DM me on discord. I’d like to reiterate that, while I have a general idea of what the corrupt data was, it’s impossible to pinpoint the exact cause, and there are no signs of anyone doing anything intentional to cause harm, or even who triggered it. Corrupt data just happens sometimes and it can’t be helped.

mijin_gakure In other news I’ve added tar as a sell option to the Leather NPC in frostbite crossing, and I increased the sell price for t3 building mats there from 35 silver per stack to 40.
mijin_gakure Introducing Notorious Monsters:
I’ve added a new world boss to the EL server. Its spawn conditions are similar to those of the conquest chest; however, there is no chest involved, and the monster is significantly more challenging than the ones at the conquest chest. Players online on the EL server will see a message appear across their screen when the monster spawns, and a yellow marker named “Notorious Monster” will appear on their map. The fight is very challenging to undertake solo and is designed for two people. There is a 1 in 5 chance of it spawning approximately every hour during PvP hours, and a reduced chance of it spawning during non-pvp hours. Once it’s killed, the marker goes away. Moving forward, I plan to implement more conquest chests and additional Notorious Monsters like this on both EL and Siptah. In the future, it’s less likely that conquest chests will contain boss fights; instead, they will feature other systems to delay players from collecting the loot to encourage PvP, whereas the Notorious Monster fights will serve as the delay for that activity. This fight offers some excellent drops, including a few that are new and unique to this battle, such as a pet, some cosmetic items for fun, and a piece of equipment with about a 25% drop rate. I’ve been very cautious in the past about adding gear that isn’t from the base game to maintain balance. However, I feel that the piece I’ve added makes the fight definitely worthwhile without giving the recipient an unfair advantage over other players who don’t have it. Have fun.

mijin_gakure Based on popular demand for more instant travel commands, we’ve decided to add another supporter tier to our Patreon. In keeping with the naming scheme, this one will be called Primordial Sovereign, since it’s one level above God/Goddess. For $25 a month, players will now have access to all of the options from the previous tiers, but also access to /return, which lets you return to where you were last located before you used another teleport command, such as /home (very convenient for farming). Additionally, there’s /tprequest, which allows you to request another player to teleport to you, and anyone can accept with /tpa regardless of supporter status. mijin_gakure We did it. We’re back on the first page of battle metrics. Considering A: We lost all of our statistical data with some of our highest numbers from september 2023 – january 2024 from the server transfer. B: We lost a lot of players from the unexpected wipe we had to preform (and hopefully will never have to again). C: We’re a server cluster, and our numbers from Siptah aren’t taken into consideration in this ranking. In spite of all this, we’re back in the top 10. 💪

mijin_gakure NEW EVENT: CONQUEST CHESTS

Starting tomorrow, we have a new event. I’m calling it Conquest Chests. During PVP time at random, a Conquest Chest will be made accessible somewhere on the map. A pop-up message will appear briefly on everyone’s screen, and a sound will chime (it’s the level up message window / sound) The message will notify the players that a Conquest Chest is available and mention the location. Additionally at this time a marker showing it’s location will display on the map like thisuntil the chest is looted at which time a message will display in global chat in red saying that the chest was looted and by who. However, don’t give up hope! certain events may occur to slow down the players progress as they try to get away…

The purpose of this event, obviously, is to encourage some PVP in a high risk / high reward sceanario. Like most of my loot chests, some on the most valuable drops have low spawn rates, so it’s worth repeating this as frequently as possible to get some unique rewards. In addition to to other rewards Silver Sovereigns that can be traded in for Pippi coins are among them.

So kit up, and get ready for some fun pvp, and don’t be discouraged if you lose, this will be a daily event, with increasing frequency as I add more, so there will be more chances!

mijin_gakure 30 people on EL and 7 people on Siptah this afternoon. We’re back up to 11th place on battle metrics for ONLY the EL server. If both were combined we would be closer to the top. Regardless, our steep climb back up battle metrics is impressive considering none of the stats before the server transfer at the beginning of Jan are tanken into account, and additionally impressive for the fact that so many people quit/moved to Siptah after the wipe we had to do because of corrupt data. We are once again most popular non-rp server official or otherwise. Thanks to everyone who continues to play here and all the new people!

I’ve added a small NPC area at E-11. I usually build a bridge here on every server I’m on to make a path back to crevice from the Frost Bridge obby, but this time I got a little carried away. In this Trading Post you will find various NPCs. The idea behind them is to buy materials that people may be hording taking up space, and/or materials that otherwise don’t have a lot of use otherwise. Additionally there are some NPCs that sell some stuff. A lootable or two, and a NPC who will play a dice game with you.

If you find an item that shouldn’t exist in the game please give it to me, make a note of where you found it, and I’ll reward you with 10G. I’d prefer to get them manually then have to run a SQL script to delete them from the database because doing anything in conan’s jank database makes me nervous.

mijin_gakure I’ve updated the Building Limits since we added the second server last month. The overall building limits have been increased, while the per server limits are now a little lower to reflect this.

Solo players: Limit of 5000 Building Pieces, 500 placeables per Server
Clans of 2: Limit of 5500 Building Pieces, 750 placeables per Server
Clans of 3: Limit of 6000 Building Pieces, 1000 placeables per Server
Clans of 4: Limit of 6500 Building Pieces, 1250 placeables per Server
Clans of 5: Limit of 7000 Building Pieces, 1500 placeables per Server
Clans of 6 (Or supporters regardless of clan size): Limit of 7500 Building Pieces, 1750 placeables per Server

While these are the limits, they should not be a target size for a single base. Please avoid building unreasonably large, lag-inducing bases. Avoid unnecessary features like extensive outter walls. Instead, try building smaller and pay more attention to detail; you may even be happier with the end results.

Building excessively large bases can significantly strain the server and impact gameplay. Large structures increase server load, as each element needs to be processed and tracked. This not only stresses the database but also demands more from rendering and network bandwidth, leading to performance issues like reduced frame rates and lag. Moreover, these megastructures can disrupt the balance and immersive experience of the game, by dominating landscapes and affecting resource spawns. For a healthier game environment and a better experience for all players, it’s advisable to keep base sizes within reasonable limits.

Our servers run on better hardware than any other sever around, but even still, there are limits to what the database can handle because of the way the schema is structured, and the fact that Conan Exiles mainly only runs on a single core. There is nothing more damaging to the database, and as a result the overall server performance, that a player can do than building enormous megastructures, so please be mindful and lets keep the server functioning well for everyone to enjoy.

mijin_gakure The Custom bosses in the passage, and at the end of the well of skelos are back in the game. The Dragon boss in warmakers I’m going to get stated adding back in at some point later tonight.
mijin_gakure The placeable and landscaping NPC shops are back up, I also added a coffer merchant that sells various storage items (including the much coveted micro vault) You can sell back mini vaults to this NPC too. Additionally all prices have been about cut in half or in some cases reduced further.
